No cookie consent banner needed — and here's why

Big Asere does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party behavioral tracking. We use only essential browser storage required for the platform to function. No Meta Pixel. No Google Analytics. No retargeting of any kind.

1. What We Use (and Don't Use)

Big Asere uses essential browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) for your cart, session and preferences. We also load third-party services required to run the site — Stripe (payments), Google Maps and Google Fonts, and Shipday (delivery and tracking) — which may set their own cookies or storage under their own privacy policies. Big Asere does NOT use advertising cookies or marketing/behavioral tracking.

We DO use

  • sessionStorage for cart data
  • localStorage for address/preferences
  • Cloudflare security tokens
  • Stripe fraud-prevention (in iframe)
  • Google Maps for address lookup

We do NOT use

  • Meta Pixel / Facebook ads
  • Google Analytics
  • Retargeting pixels
  • Ad network cookies
  • Third-party behavioral tracking

Third-party services

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Google Maps & Fonts — maps and typography
  • Shipday — delivery dispatch & tracking

Each of these providers operates under its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies or storage to function.

2. Browser Storage We Use

The following items are stored locally in your browser. None of this data is sent to third-party advertising or analytics services.

sessionStorage

ba_cart

Purpose: Your current cart contents (items, quantities, restaurant). Duration: Cleared automatically when your browser tab is closed.

localStorage

delivery_address

Purpose: Your last entered delivery address, to speed up future orders. Duration: Persists until you clear your browser data. You can delete this at any time.

sessionStorage

ba_order_type

Purpose: Whether you've selected delivery or pickup. Duration: Cleared when your browser tab closes.

sessionStorage

turnstile_token

Purpose: Cloudflare Turnstile security verification token to protect our forms from bots. Duration: Expires after approximately 30 minutes or when tab closes.

localStorage

ba_lang

Purpose: Your language preference (English or Spanish). Duration: Persists until you change it or clear browser data.

3. Third-Party Scripts & Their Storage

Some third-party services we use may set their own cookies or storage. We have no tracking or advertising purpose behind any of these integrations.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Sets cookies for bot-detection and security verification. No ad tracking. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Google Maps JavaScript API

Used for delivery address autocomplete. Google may set cookies per their privacy policy. No ad personalization from our use. See Google Privacy Policy.

Stripe

The Stripe payment form (loaded in a secure iframe) sets fraud-prevention cookies. These are used exclusively for payment security and are required for PCI-DSS compliance. See Stripe Privacy Policy.

Supabase

Our database backend. Supabase does not set client-side cookies or tracking storage. All Supabase communication is server-to-server.

4. How to Control Your Storage

You have full control over browser storage. Here's how to manage it:

  • Clear all storage: Go to your browser's Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data → check "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files".
  • Chrome DevTools: Open F12 → Application tab → Local Storage / Session Storage → right-click to delete individual keys.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search for bigasere → Remove.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.

Note: Clearing session storage will remove your cart. Disabling JavaScript entirely may prevent core ordering functionality from working.

5. Why No Cookie Consent Banner

Cookie consent banners (as required by GDPR in the EU or CCPA in California) are typically needed when a site uses non-essential tracking or advertising cookies that require user consent.

Big Asere:

  • Uses only essential storage required to process orders
  • Does not serve advertisements
  • Does not use behavioral tracking or profiling
  • Is a Nebraska-based business serving Nebraska customers

Therefore, a cookie consent popup is not required and would be misleading to our users. We believe in transparency without unnecessary friction.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we add new integrations or storage types, we will update this policy and post changes here. We will not add advertising tracking cookies without updating this policy and providing notice to users.
